Topographical Surveys

A topographical survey is typically commissioned by architects and developers for a range of uses and is undertaken to gather survey data about natural and man-made features, including heights / elevations, in order to produce 3D representation of the site. The team at Blueplan is experienced in undertaking topographical surveys of all sizes and complexities with surveys completed using extensive on-site coding library, providing the ability to continually view, edit and check data at all stages in line with your requirements.

Utility Surveys

The requirement for underground utility surveys is becoming increasingly necessary because of Health and Safety legislation. Blueplan can offer a variety of bespoke techniques for establishing the location and depths of underground services, with the option of relating the information to topographical surface data to give you full and rounded information at an early stage can avoid expensive diversion costs and minimises your risk by fulfilling your relevant Health and Safety responsibilities.

Volumetrics

Simple and complex volumes can be calculated with reference to a datum or by comparing different survey models allowing comprehensive reports to be produced analysing cut/fill scenarios and quantities. In addition, sectional data can be generated simultaneously from the model to represent the calculations in a more traditional way, providing accurate reliable volumes of materials for analysis or costing purposes.

Terrain Modelling

All our topographical surveys are undertaken in 3D to allow full contouring and terrain modelling. The validity of the resultant survey model is vital and is maintained through good survey practice, coupled with complex modelling software. From this data, surfaces can be modelled and represented using colour banding and provided as full 3D outputs, to provide a range of solutions from site plans for master planning, to contour models and visualisation for planning application purposes.
